Verbalize Your Action, Issue #047 - Integrate Courage, Skills & Goals May 18, 2018 |
May 18th 2018 #047How to Integrate Your Courage Skills & GoalsAs a self-aware leader in what type of situations would you recognise the need for a combination of courage-skills-goals? and In which sequence (there are a number of permutations you could build) would you actually require these "things" to animate themselves for your benefit? Think about this for a long time (even meditate about this) while you think more on the example of a well cooked home meal. Everyone loves a Well Cooked Home MealIt is perfectly normal for all of us to enjoy a well cooked meal. That’s the reason why you see so many chefs in cooking competitions and activities everywhere you go. But in reality you and I are seldom interested in how the meal is prepared, unless you are a chef or cook paying attention to this level of detail. Here is the awareness. A well cooked meal is a combination of different ingredients. If combination is the key, why would you think otherwise when you come to other areas of your life. Be clear that the more personal qualities you combine together in your life, the better your awareness either in self, self-awareness, self-regulation, and self-development. So take your-courage to work hard in your-skills-utilization to achieve your-goals.Is that fair enough? Of course, take a closer look at this sentence and you will be aware that you are combining three key things in the above sentence as opposed to just one thing.
Kindly take note also of the sequence of the words in the sentence.Take Your-courageBy allowing your-courage to reign inside you, you are effectively being possessed in your self-regulation towards whatever you want to do. For example, you want to be effectual in your-skills-utilization or focusing on your-goals. So, in this instance, courage is your first level as you see in the sentence given above (that is "take your-courage..."). You then need, like a seasoned chef, to take your-courage to the next level, which is your skill utilization. You now have courage-skills linked together. Take Your-skills-utilization and Add This to Your-courageWhat product do you get when you mix or combine your-courage with your-skills-utilization inside you as a living soul? While that product is totally your own to experience, you should be able to see that you will have courage to utilise your skills. If you were cooking a home meal, naturally, you would excel. But wait a little! What is your goal for cooking the meal? Remember, you just have the courage-skills combination. Go For Your-goalsSay, as a seasoned chef, your goal is to have your family enjoy a healthy meal. Now you have a motivation for cooking the healthy meal for your family courageously utilising the very best of your skills. In the beginning of this article you saw a similar sentence to this one above - so take your-courage to work hard in your-skills-utilization to reach your-goals. Just as in a well cooked meal you find a combination of ingredients so also in your self-development you find a combination of personal qualities for your diligent awareness to show in situations you find also yourself in. This is practical leadership, the combination of courage-skills-goals. So, to produce a tangible product you need a useful combination of your personal qualities in practice, not theory. Why don't I develop my own products? I guess that was the best thing I learnt from my MBA studies. Of course the MBA instigated this behaviour in me. My MBA thesis supplied the business concept and material. Now I needed to get down to productivity. After a long research for the best in class tools for personal application, I found SBI. Initially I was sceptical, but as I explored the SBI process, the tools and the core SBI support team including the more than 380 business sites that are running on top of SBI, I realised I was home and dry. I hope you can enjoy as i am doing, slowly, step by step, just like the tortoise! Its a copycat cyclical game. You read, you check out some examples, you experiment on your own site and your release that part of your product and monitor it's performance.
